How can you know what the best laptop for programming in 2022 will be if you don’t know which programming languages are popular in 2022? Here’s a list of the top 20 programming languages, according to TIOBE Index, as of February 2018 and how each language stacks up in terms of popularity and demand so that you can start to narrow down your choices. Keep in mind that this list changes frequently, so it may not be completely accurate by the time you read this!
The Facts
What kind of laptop should I get if I want to do programming in the next two years?
The latest software that you’ll need may not be out yet, but will likely be out within the next two years. If this is your situation, and you don’t know what hardware or operating system to buy into, it might be wise to take a step back and look at things from a more far-sighted point of view. Consider what’s going to happen over the next few years before making any decisions on which laptop you’re going to purchase.
Remember, technology advances at a quick pace; by the time 2020 rolls around, there could be entirely new types of laptops with entirely new features on the market. It might seem expensive now to invest in something with long-term viability (especially considering how quickly we replace computers), but remember: It won’t seem so costly after 2 years when your old computer has become obsolete! So, what kind of laptop should you get? As long as the following criteria are met, then anything will work just fine.
#1 – You want to stay on top of all upcoming trends and updates. In other words, you plan on constantly upgrading to new systems in order to remain competitive as a programmer
#2 – You’re looking for something that’s powerful enough for many different projects at once, such as video games and 3D modeling
#3 – You don’t mind spending upwards of $2000
#4 – You’re ok with giving up portability and battery life because you’ll be primarily using your laptop from one fixed location. If you meet these qualifications, then congratulations–you’ve found the perfect candidate for programming in 2022! For example, Dell’s XPS line offers superb computing power and battery life–although it does come at a hefty price tag. Lenovo also has some good options worth checking out too, like their ThinkPad T480s
Hopefully these tips have been helpful!

Alternative 1
The last few years have seen a significant shift toward coding, both on the professional and recreational level. Python, Java, C++ and other programming languages are becoming a requirement in many different industries. There are also many online resources like Code Academy and Udacity that allow anyone to pick up these skills at little to no cost.
A new laptop for 2020 needs to be able to handle these modern day computing demands. Below is a list of features I recommend looking for when purchasing your next laptop:
1) High processing power- The operating system on the machine needs to be lightning fast. With how interconnected everything is now with mobile devices, using a slow device just won’t cut it anymore. Look for an option with an i7 processor or better. \
2) Lightweight- It’s common knowledge that working long hours on a computer can cause health problems such as eye strain, back pain and headaches. Make sure you get a light weight machine so you can keep working without any worries about those issues coming up.
3) Widescreen display- We’ve already discussed the importance of having all your projects within arm’s reach, but not everyone has space to accommodate multiple monitors on their desk. Look for widescreen displays if you don’t want to spend hours hunched over trying to see what’s happening across the screen! They’re perfect for viewing large spreadsheets, scrolling through various social media platforms and making edits to presentations. You’ll also notice they come in three main shapes- square (2:3), 16:9 (the same aspect ratio as most HDTVs) and 4:3 which is usually used for editing photos.
There are pros and cons to each shape but some people find the square shape too small while others prefer the more cinematic look of 4:3 screens. If you’re unsure which shape will work best for you then just go into a store and try them out before committing!
