I recently had the pleasure of staying in Sunny Ravanbach’s fabulous Los Angeles home, and I just had to share it with you! Sunny, an amazing event planner who owns her own company called White Lilac Events (which she named after her daughter—her little white lilac), has an incredible life filled with fun, excitement, and beautiful things. When you first walk into her home, you immediately notice that everything is symmetrical and positioned at perfect angles—it’s like living inside a chic art gallery!
Living Room
The living room is a large, open space with floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of the California coastline. The room is decorated in a chic, modern style with white walls, sleek furniture, and pops of color. There’s a cozy fireplace for chilly evenings and a beautiful chandelier for a touch of glamour. The room feels both welcoming and sophisticated.
It’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day or entertain guests for an evening get together. Sunny shares that her favorite spot in the house is her office. I love sitting by the window, looking out at my garden. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Catalina Island.
Sunny also notes that she has some of her own artwork on display throughout the home: I always wanted to be an artist but decided to pursue event planning instead, she says. Now I have paintings from some amazing artists in our collection.
She adds that she doesn’t have any major plans for remodeling or decorating anytime soon because she loves how this home has grown and evolved over time: You don’t need too much decoration when you live near the ocean! I’ve had a lot of happy times here, including raising my children and now hosting gatherings for friends and family.
The backyard is one of my favorite places – it has a pool, outdoor dining area with pizza oven, full kitchen if we want to stay outside all day cooking and entertaining, bocce ball court, fire pit… there’s something about being surrounded by water and greenery that just feels so restful.
Dining Room
The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and has a large bay window overlooking the backyard. The table is set for six with place settings of white china and gold-rimmed glasses. The centerpiece is a white lily in a simple glass vase. The walls are painted a pale blue, and the hardwood floors are covered in a dark blue rug.
The overall effect is elegant and serene. One cannot help but feel calm while spending time in this space. It’s the perfect location for hosting dinner parties or family gatherings. And it’s just one of many spaces that make up Sunny’s fabulous home.
Outdoor Patio (including pics of her adorable pup, Eevee)
As soon as you step foot onto the property, you’re hit with a strong sense of community. It’s very homey and warm, something that’s reflected in the founder’s bubbly personality. The outdoor patio is beautifully landscaped and includes a comfortable seating area perfect for entertaining guests. And of course, no party is complete without Eevee the adorable pup who always seems to make an appearance. Overall, it’s a stunning space that perfectly reflects the owner’s fun and inviting personality.
It was also amazing to see how she utilizes her love of planning parties through her business- this wasn’t just her personal home. Every detail spoke volumes about how much work goes into every event she plans – from the themed decor to her innovative tabletop design.
And when I said before there were two sweet pups? That would be Leeloo, my new best friend who stole my heart during our meeting!
Sunny truly lives up to the term unconventional beauty – everything about this house felt chic yet approachable, luxurious but not pretentious. Her motto has never been more fitting: I like things a little bit different than everybody else. If you’re going to do something, do it well.
With that attitude, the White Lilac founder became one of the most successful event planners in the nation, garnering awards such as California Women’s Entrepreneurial Award and Small Business Woman of Distinction. From start to finish, her entire home embodies what makes her so special- impeccable attention to detail paired with a down-to-earth demeanor that radiates warmth and genuine hospitality.
Hallway / Mudroom / Laundry Room
As soon as you walk in the door of White Lilac founder Sunny Ravanbach’s home, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting mudroom. The walls are painted a beautiful lilac color, and there’s a basket full of flowers on the table. The laundry room is just off to the side, and it’s so neat and organized that you can’t help but admire it. There’s even a special place for the cat! This is obviously a home that belongs to someone who loves entertaining.
The living room is full of comfortable furniture and there’s a beautiful fireplace. The dining room table is set with sunny yellow plates and there are fresh flowers everywhere. It’s no wonder that Sunny is such a successful event planner – her own home is gorgeous! But what we love most about this house is how welcoming it feels. It looks like a space where you want to come back to again and again.
