Before Visiting

If you’re a fan of Tavi Gevinson, then you know that she has impeccable taste. So it should come as no surprise that her Brooklyn apartment is just as cool as you’d expect. Located in Clinton Hill, the apartment is full of art, books, and trinkets that make it feel like home. But before you visit, there are a few things you should know.

First and foremost, the apartment is small. It’s cozy, but don’t expect to have a lot of space to yourself. Secondly, the cat is very friendly and may try to climb into your lap. And lastly, there’s no elevator, so be prepared to walk up a few flights of stairs.

Before Entering

Tavi Gevinson is a fashion icon, actress, and editor who first made a name for herself as a teenager. At just 18 years old, she’s already accomplished more than most people do in a lifetime. So it’s no surprise that her Brooklyn apartment is just as cool as you’d expect.

As you step into Tavi’s apartment, the first thing that strikes you is the colorful art on the walls. Tavi has clearly put thought into every aspect of her décor, and it shows. The living room is cozy and inviting, with a comfy couch and plenty of pillows. The kitchen is small but well-equipped, and there’s even a home office where Tavi can work on her latest project.

Inside the Space

Tavi Gevinson’s Brooklyn apartment is just as cool as you’d expect. The space is eclectic, with vintage furniture and art, and there’s even a lofted bed. But what makes the space truly unique is the way that Tavi has personalised it to reflect her interests and style. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this is a place where creativity and self-expression are valued. On one wall, Tavi has hung shelves that she made herself from cut boards.

They’re filled with books about feminism and fashion alongside photos of herself – reminders of who she is and where she came from. There’s also an oversized zebra rug in the living room area, which feels like a conversation starter in any social situation. It really was one of those things where I just saw it on my phone screen for about 10 seconds before I bought it, says Tavi of the rug. It was so spontaneous.

Inside Her Closet

Tavi Gevinson’s closet is just as cool as you’d expect. It’s full of vintage finds, interesting art and, of course, a few fashion items. But what I love most about her closet is that it feels like a reflection of her personality. It’s quirky and unique, just like Tavi herself.

And because she shops so often, everything in the room has an air of spontaneity to it. Some clothes are new, some are old; but they all have the same happy energy radiating from them. And for those wondering what her best piece is? It would be hard to pick one, she says with a laugh.I have some good pieces.

Inside Her Bedroom

Tavi’s bedroom is pretty small, but she’s made the most of it. The walls are covered in photos and artwork, and there’s a giant bookshelf full of her favorite books. Her bed is covered in a comfy duvet and pillows, and she has a cute little nightstand next to it. On the other side of the room is her desk, where she does most of her writing. And finally, there’s a window that overlooks the street below. It looks like Tavi spends plenty of time at home relaxing or working on whatever project she’s up to.

Inside The Living Room/Kitchen Area

The living room/kitchen area is one of the most unique aspects of Tavi’s apartment. The exposed brick walls and high ceilings give the space an industrial feel, while the warm wood floors and comfortable furniture make it feel like home. Tavi has cleverly decorated the space with a mix of vintage and modern pieces, including a mid-century modern couch, an antique rug, and a contemporary light fixture. The overall effect is both stylish and inviting.

Inside The Bathroom

The bathroom is probably my favorite room in Tavi’s apartment. It’s all white with marble countertops and a huge clawfoot tub. There’s also a giant window that overlooks the Brooklyn skyline. It’s the perfect place to relax after a long day. There are a few framed family photos on the wall, but otherwise it’s clean and minimal.

It doesn’t seem like there are any windows or skylights because of how dark it can get inside, but once you open the curtains, you can see they’re there! I’m really impressed by how much natural light comes into this room! When the sun is shining, it feels so warm and cozy.

And even when it’s not as sunny outside, there’s enough light from the giant window for me to read or do my makeup in here without turning on any other lights. On either side of the tub there are these awesome deep shelves where we store our towels and other bath products-I never want to leave! After a hard day at work, it’s so relaxing to soak in the tub while looking out at New York City and remembering everything I accomplished.

Sometimes I’ll go upstairs to hang out with my sister Cali before bed and then come back down here for one last soak before bedtime. We always end up talking about anything under the sun while sitting on the edge of the tub! Sometimes she tells me about what she did today, sometimes we make plans for the weekend, and sometimes she just reassures me that everything will be alright.

One time I was feeling really stressed out because I couldn’t find a job after college and she said You know you don’t have to find something right away, right? It totally made sense but until then I hadn’t realized it didn’t have to be such an urgent goal.
